November 28th and 29th the Charlie consortium had its first Face 2 Face meeting in Barcelona. The Research partners provided updates on each of the Workpackages in a very professional setting. In the Clinic Hospital auditorium personal technical assistance, many camera’s and a zoom meeting contributed to a very fruitful meeting.

Several members of Patient Advisory Boards from Spain, The Netherlands and USA were present and discussed unmet needs, PROMS, improving treatments and personal experiences. Also teams from the German Mouse Clinic, Heidelberg, the University of Luxembourg, Ciber Spain, Meyer Italy and Radboud University Medical Centre in the Netherlands provided updates on their PDE and GA1 mouse, zebrafish and human cell models.

On November 29th there was also a session with the Scientific Advisory Board. All groups had questions prepared for the SAB and this resulted in some good discussions with all Research partners. The Barcelona Team were excellent hosts and they organized a social program for the evenings as well; Day 1 a guided tour with typical Spanish dinner afterwards and day 2 a visit to the beach with dinner in a Seafood restaurant.

As the meeting was very successful, it was decided to plan another F2F meeting for the entire Charlie Consortium in 2024.
